I am determined to see things differently. I am determined to recognize when the veil is being drawn over my eyes and I will choose my new perspective during those times.
As a kid, my father used to tell me that nobody could make me mad. I disagreed with him on that matter. I disagreed because I could remember being mad and framing that anger in light of a specific person or a specific event. I believed that it was the other person's actions that made me mad. It was as if I was saying that I had no control over myself and was required by some mysterious law to be angry.
As I have gotten older, I have begun to see the absurdity of thinking that I was incapable of controlling my emotional responses. It was and is absurd to believe that someone or some event could reach into my psyche in rip control of my emotions away from me, leaving me helpless. Yet, that is what so many people do every day. They willingly give control of their emotions over to some other person. They allow others to pull them in one direction or another. They allow the veil of illusion to be drawn over their eyes. All the while, they know that this does not bring them peace, or happiness, or true love.
When we choose to awaken from the dream, to realize that outside forces don't control us, then we find peace. We find the peace of knowing that we were designed to create, to have dominion over our minds, and to live a fulfilled and happy life. Today, I am determined to see things differently. I will think of things that have angered me, annoyed me, and irritated me and I will claim ownership over my emotions. I will look at these things and say, "I am determined to see things in truth for what they are. They are events. They are not in control of me. I determine my view. I see what I want to see."
When we claim our power to see the world as we create it, we will create the world that we desire. Be determined to see the truth about your power. Be determined to take control of what you perceive and own your responses!

In Napoleon Hill's Book, Outwitting The Devil, he indicates that the vast majority of people are simply drifting through life, waiting for circumstances to pull them this way or that. He says that they drift because they do not see truth. I don't want to drift. I want to see the truth and I want to fulfill what I was designed to do.
In truth, we find out what the real world is. We find that the illusion that we are living in is what the rest of the world, what our ego would have us believe. Our ego needs us to believe that we are powerless and that we must continue to struggle and to suffer. It needs us to believe in weakness and non-creation in order to remain valid. The moment that we break free of the chains of social conditioning is the moment that truth is revealed.
You were created for greatness. You were created for success. You were created for abundance. Yet, you have played the victim in order to not seem too different from everyone else. There are two worlds at play. There is the world of illusion that is projected out of fear and there is the world of truth projected out of love. Which world we live in is entirely up to us. One is a world of struggle and suffering. The other is a world where our vision can be reality the moment that we choose to see. We are called to see, to have vision, to create. It is our choice.
Whether you refer to A Course In Miracles, Outwitting The Devil, Three Feet From Gold, or a host of other books, each of them strives to help us break free. In breaking free, we create a definite purpose for our life. Don't mistake your job for your purpose, however. Your purpose will drive you to do what fulfills your purpose. This won't be just in your job or in your volunteering, or in your personal relationships. This will be in everything that you do. When you see truth, you claim your place. When you see truth, you can create the world that is right. What you think, you create. You are not alone in experiencing the effects of your thought. You become what you see.
Today, I am determined to see. I am determined to have no mask of social conditioning. I will see truth! What will you do?

We are never alone in experiencing our thoughts. Everything that we think is expressed in one way or another.
In the book, Brainfluence, the author talks about the fact that everything that we experience in our minds is expressed in one way or another and affects the way that we make our decisions. A flash of an image related to apple pie can make a person more likely to buy home goods. A scent of something putrid can make a person less likely to cooperate. At a conscious level, most people don't even realize what their thoughts on these things are until they are perceiving life in a different direction. Some never realize their thoughts at all. Regardless of the realization, those thoughts are there and they are impacting our decisions and our actions.
What we think about is what we become. It is the act of creation, or becoming that is what is often focused on, but that is only the effect of a thought. It is not the cause. T. Harv Eker says that we are the sum total of our thoughts. Our thoughts are the blueprint for the world that exists. He references the amount of money that we have and how our thoughts are directly responsible for the creation of our exact amount of wealth. (The book: Secret's of The Millionaire Mind) Knowing that we are creating our world based on our thoughts, this would mean that we are drawing others into that creation.
For example, if my thoughts on money are that rich people are jerks and I think that I am a nice person, then money will run away from me. I thought that effect into reality, though. If my thoughts on rich people are that they are kind and generous and make a positive impact on this world and those are the things that I think of myself as well, then money comes to me. We can either create a world where people are good or where people are bad. Our thoughts about this world are creating the perception of the world that exists. Our experiences are simply a result of what we think.
What will you choose to think today? Will you choose to see the beauty and majesty of what you are creating with your thoughts? Or, will you choose to create darkness and mistrust with your thoughts? The choice is yours and it always has been. Just remember that you are connected to those around you. If they have not taken control of their thoughts, then they are drifting into your creation. You have a choice to make. Choose to help those who drift to at least drift towards beauty and success.
To Your Success,
I am not alone in this world for I create the world that I experience. I am connected to all that I experience for it is my creation.
I have always believed that the way that I view the world has an impact on the people around me. Whether I see good or I see bad, those things tend to come into light. Some might say that they are powerful and can control the thoughts of others. Others might say that the law of attraction brings good into their life. Still others might believe that it is random happenstance that creates these scenarios.
What I do know is that I have an impact. I also know that you have an impact. Heck, even your mother knew that your friends would have an impact on you. After all, didn’t she tell you to be careful who you hung out with because you would end up just like them? I know that mine did. She was right. Everything that I see of this world creates the world around me that I interact with.
This means that my attitude, my interaction, my reaction and my beliefs about others will create in them what I see. It does this because I only see what I am looking for. If I am only looking for one thing, then I find it and nothing else. Our brains are trained to delete the things that are not congruent with our beliefs, distort our interactions to make them match the way that we think, and generalize events to fit with how we see reality. That is the job of your conscious mind and it is incredible at its job!
I was designed to create in this world. All of us were. The question that we have to ask ourselves is what do we wish to see and what will that mean for the world around us? Creating a world that is good and happy and focused and purpose-filled begins with me being all of those things. The only true way to experience the world that you want is to first live the world from the inside out. When you stop trying to live outside-in, waiting for the world to prove that it is good, you will take control of your happiness.
Live today knowing that everything that you perceive is being created because you have created it.

I don't see anything in this world that is neutral because I don't have neutral thoughts. Everything that I view, I think of meaning for the object in order to experience the object. When I see a person, I think of the person and the flood of past thoughts and experiences come to mind in order to form an opinion of the person. We are thinking creatures and are incapable of turning off our thoughts.
When I look around this world, I realize that everything I see is a result of what I think about it. I see grass and I think about the times that I would play in the yard and about the years that I spent mowing with my best friend. I therefore assign a positive meaning to grass. I see a house and I think about the saying, "I am thankful because I have a roof over my head." I see a sunrise and I think about the hundreds of times that I have rolled out of bed or gotten up on a camping trip to watch as new opportunity arose. I see my dog and I think about the unconditional love that she has for me and my family. Everything that I see has meaning because I think of it first and experience the result of the thought.
In speaking with my youngest daughter yesterday, we were talking about why people struggle with various challenges. I asked her a question that applies to all situations. I asked her, "What would you have to believe in order for that to be a positive experience?" She is a very philosophical young lady and responded with the belief that would have to be present in order to experience something as good instead of as bad. She talked about where her other belief came from and what she would need to think about to see it and experience it in a new way.
We have that power within us. We have an incredible ability to tear ourselves down or build ourselves up, based on the thoughts that we think. We have the ability to make heaven of hell or hell of heaven, to steal our own joy or to create it. We have always been that powerful. We have always been the ones to create, we just haven't always wanted to accept that truth. Our lives are always in motion because our thoughts are always in motion. We are either driving forward or reversing back. We are never sitting in neutral.
Just like you learned that there are no idle thoughts, there is no idle life. Our lives can never be idle because our thoughts can never be idle. We make the world that we live in by the thoughts that we think. Our thoughts are the cause and the world that we experience is the effect. The world itself is not the cause! It is our thoughts that create. Spend time today in reflection of what you think about each of the things that you experience and what their meaning is. You live a life in motion and you get to choose the direction of that motion. If you can choose good, why would you not?
Thought for the day: I have no neutral thoughts and my thoughts create my experience. Today, I will choose good thoughts so that the world is good.

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7
Taking that one step further... As a man thinketh in his heart, so will the world be that he creates. The sum total of who we are is what we think about consistently.
The thoughts that we think always have meaning. Some of our thoughts have positive meaning. Some of them have negative meaning. Some of them are good and some of them are bad. The misconception, however, is that some of them are idle. There is no such thing as idle thoughts. There is no such thing as mindlessness. When I first began to learn about meditation, I learned that my mind running with lots of random thoughts, staying unfocused, was called "monkey brain." This made a lot of sense to me from the short times of watching monkeys running around at the zoo. They seemed very random and unfocused. I wanted to find a way to be less random and to live a life with more focus and with right direction. I began to realize that the chatter was there to keep me from seeing truth and seeing beauty. By getting past the chatter and thinking on purpose, I was able to see what was real.
When we think of good or we think of evil, when we talk ill of another or we speak love towards another, in any of these things we are making a difference. We are building a better world with love and a fearful world without love. We are quite literally constructing a world around us that will match our thoughts. Years ago, I began to challenge myself to think more of the good of this world and less of the bad. I tried to go seven straight days thinking and saying only positive. It took an entire year for me to have 7 continuous days of only good. For some reason, it is easy to drift away from the good and focus on the bad. It is easy to see the negative in the world. There are so many people in the media and in other parts of life that focus exclusively on that world. You don't have to do that. You don't have to focus on the bad. It is simply a choice. You are not helpless in your thoughts. Good and bad are what you focus on. They are what you think about.
What I realize, is that it is a choice that I make each day. I get to choose to look for the good in the world or I get to choose to look for the bad. I get to see the beauty in others or I get to see the darkness. Those are things that I am in control of, not them. They control what they look for and what they see, but I control me. Today, I start my journey to positive creation! Today, I choose to think only positive and therefore see only positive in this world. I understand that what I look for is what I will see. What I think, I will create. How about you? What will you choose?
You are in charge of what you create! Choose to create something beautiful!

I remember the first time that I tried to come up with a dream board. The idea was to take images from magazines, or the internet, or wherever, that would represent success and plaster them on this board. I would hang the board up in a prominent place and see the images on a daily basis. The intent was to inspire me to pursue those images of success for myself. My biggest challenge was that I kept choosing images of other people's success instead of my own. I was trying to make something real for myself that simply wasn't mine.
As I have grown over the years as an entrepreneur, I have honed in on what my thoughts are about success. When I relax my mind and simply think about success as a general concept, the right images, my images, come to mind. Each of us has our personal blueprint of what success means to us laid out in our minds. It isn't the image of that success that matters. After all, without the thought, the image doesn't exist. It is the thought of success that is the catalyst. In going through this course in miracles, I am beginning to more fully grasp the idea that the images that my brain is translating are simply reflections of my thoughts.
I, like you, project my thoughts into this world, creating the images that are my world. Whether it is love, or hate, or hope, or despair that I see, those images are simply my thoughts coming into focus. Hellen Keller once said that "to have sight but no vision is a true tragedy." Clear your thoughts of the trappings of what others say is success. Empty your mind of the illusions that others try to put in front of you. Simply allow your thoughts to fade and then focus on one singular idea. What are the images that come into focus? What is the world that exists for you? What is the world that you wish to exist? If you know what you want to see in this world, then meditate on those things and think your thoughts into creation!

I think that each of us goes through a period of questioning in our lives, where we are trying to discover what it is that we really believe. Do we believe that there is a higher power out there? Do we believe that we are alone? Do we believe that there is meaning and purpose for our lives? We wonder what we are here for and what all of the experiences that we are having actually mean?
What I think we are actually wondering, however, is where does meaning come from and why are these things happening? How many of us have asked the question... If God is real, then why do we have cancer, or murder, or natural disasters? I remember as an 8 year old, wondering why God did not grant me what I had asked for when my aunt was sick and ended up passing away. For years, I struggled with the idea of God doing things for me, to me, against me, and around me. I had seen God as flipping a coin and choosing who lived and who died, who got sick and who got healed. I had seen Him as something that He was and still is NOT.
There are two worlds that we see. We see our world, the one that we created out of our fears and out of the meaningless that we assign to things. And, we can open ourselves up to see the real world, the one that God actually created out of love. The world around us is the outer world, the one that we try to make into our reality. Beneath that, the world that exists as our inner world, that is the world that matters. It is what we create in our minds that shapes the meaning of everything out in the world. Our world, our real world, was designed to connect us to everything and everyone around us. It was designed to lift us up, to help us stand on our own, to reveal the power that was given to us.
It is the world of the ego, perpetuated by lack and blame and discord that we see as our outer world, though. After my aunt passed away, and after a decade of questioning, I finally found my peace in truth. God did not take my aunt away. God did not give my aunt to me. God was not and is not there as a vending machine in the sky, nor is He there as the great judger who rains down His wrath on us on earth. God created us with the power to create. He created us with the ability to choose the truth or to choose the lie. What we choose is up to us.
When we realize that our meaning is NOT in events, that God is not there to do for us or against us, that we were wonderfully made to create, then we find fulfillment. We are the meaning that exists. Our inner world, the one where we assign meaning, that is the world that creates our outer world. I choose to define myself! I choose to create! I choose to be connected! In God's creation, all things are one. What do you choose? God did not create a meaningless world. Instead, God created us to create meaning in this world.
To Your Success,
As ego-driven creatures, we think of our world as only purposeful when meaning is superimposed upon it. We think of our jobs, our businesses, our hobbies, our friends, and even of our family as the source that creates meaning for us. We look to those external things to push meaning into our very souls and drive us to purpose. For some reason, we seem to believe that our stuff is there to create meaning for us. Our egos want us, no they need us to believe in that externally created meaning because that is what justifies the ego. After all, nothing without meaning really exists. Does it?
As I look around my world and think about the connections that I have had to meaninglessness over the years, I realize that I have been fooling myself. I have been looking at life as a series of events that created the fabric of who I am. The simple reality is that my meaning has never been and will never be derived from the events and conditions around me. I look around this world and see meaninglessness. I see the ego grasping at straws to remain in control, wresting with the spirit to keep the wool pulled over my eyes.
I see a meaningless world around me. In the past, I would have believed that seeing meaninglessness would put me in competition with God. I would have believed that the world was God's meaning. It simply isn't, however. We were given dominion over all of the earth. Dominion did not mean that we were this world, however. We are not in competition with God to control meaning, to control the earth and He is not in competition with us. All things are one. Nothing in this earth has meaning, except that which I give it. Don't be afraid to realize that your meaning does not come from this world. Meaning in this world doesn't exist. This can create fear for some people, as it did for me. The fear that realizing that the world is without meaning on its own is the fear that God is your competitor.
You, like me, were created to create. You were created to create your own meaning, independent of the world, independent of constraint, independent of what the external world would have you believe. Live today knowing that you are the creator. I have always loved the poem "Invictus" by William Henley. I believe that it captures our true nature. We emerge from the black of the pit of deception, the facade of this world to understand that we are in control of our destiny. So today, I will leave you with this poem and the reality that this world does not create the meaning of you. You create that!
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

P.S. Never let fear define you. Never let ego control you. Stand in the void and create!
I woke up on that August morning thinking to myself, "There has to be more than this." I scanned the news and I saw violence, anger, destruction, persecution, and terror. I saw all of the bad that could be represented in the world. I switched over to social media and I saw business struggle, personal struggle, pain and disappointment. Everywhere I looked I was seeing the same thing. I asked myself, "Is there any more than this?" I was upset with what the world had become, or so I thought.
The simple reality of my life was that I was not upset with the world. I was upset with my projection of the world. I was upset because I did not see any meaning in the world. The world wasn't bad. The world wasn't good. The world simply existed and I in it. My upset was that my thoughts about the world, which had been meaningless up to this point, were creating a meaningless world for my existence. I was upset because deep in my soul I knew that there was more that was already there. I knew that beneath the facade of my projected thoughts was the world that God had actually created. It was that world, the world of meaning, the one that was meant for me, that held the truth. The truth about this world would set me free from my own false projections.
As I look around today, I think that I am upset about the way that the values are changing in this world. I think that I am upset about war. I think that I am upset because America has lost sight of what made it great. I think that I am upset about the violence. I think that I am upset about racial tension. The truth, however, is that I am upset about not seeing meaning because of the meaningless thoughts that Have been floating through my mind. I am upset that I see a meaningless world. I long for this world to have true meaning, to have true purpose. My upset actually stems from that lack.
I no longer wish to see a world without meaning. I know that I was designed for purpose, destined for change, and created to create. I was designed to make this world into something incredible, something that has meaning. My thoughts must first have meaning in order for my world to have meaning, and they will when I see the world for what it is. The world is my canvas! It is time to create my masterpiece.
