For over a decade and a half, I have worked with individuals and companies to help people find the place where they are the happiest. I have helped them to find their "fit" and discover their strengths. In the process of helping others discover who they were designed to be, I have found who I was designed to be. Each of us was designed for some version of greatness. Each of us was designed to bring light to the darkness in our corner of the universe. The struggle is that so many people have bought into the lie that they are supposed to follow the ego's plan. The world would have you settle for less than you were created to be. Your ego would tell you that you are not good enough. Arrogance is to believe that you know better than the creator what you were designed to be. Arrogance would be to deny the spark that is inside of you.
When I decided to go into business for myself, several of my well-intentioned family members wanted to know what my backup plan was going to be if/when this didn't work out. I remember thinking about it and thinking about it and finally deciding. I was not going to have a backup plan! I was going to live as the person that I was designed to be instead of living in fear. I was going to jump off the proverbial cliff and trust that the right substance was going to be at the bottom for me to land on/in.
It isn't arrogance or pride to live as the perfect version of yourself. It isn't arrogance to know that you were called to be in business, or called to teach, or called to preach, or called to work in healthcare, or any other calling. It is humility to know that you were created to change the world and be willing to work diligently toward that. The challenge that many people have is that they believe that ministry is a calling, every other job is just a choice. You have a purpose and you were created to shine bright enough for all the world to see. I was created in God's image and God is everything. Who am I to question my calling? Who am I to let my feeble ego get in the way of His intentions? As His creation, I am called to create. I am called to succeed in everything that I do. God is not a failure. He does not wait on things to happen for him. He does not need anything except His love that shines brightly for all the world to see.
Today, know that you were created to create light. Your one true calling is to live into the perfect version of yourself. It is to be the very best that you are capable of being. It is to be... you! I know that my life is what it is supposed to be when I claim the light that is within me and the show it to the world. I am only fulfilled when I live as me. Your only purpose in life is to shine the light that is within you, God's light. When you live fully in the light and love of God, you embody the creator and you change the world. You will make the world and everyone around you when you embrace love instead of fear.
Go out today and change the world by being uniquely you!
