I have had thousands of problems in my life. A few of them were even real. --Mark Twain
Many of the challenges that I have faced in life were self-induced. I have stressed about being broke when I wasn't. I have worried about a deal that had not happened. I have struggled with technical issues that didn't exist. I have spent way too much time thinking about the things that aren't even there.
In life, we live too much in the past, too much in the future, and too little in the present. It is the present, this moment and only this moment, that we have control over. We give up the eternity of now in order to pursue the hell of possible challenges. I believe the joy comes from living in this moment and not thinking about the things that don't exist. Any myriad of things could exist, any possibility could come to fruition, or it could never happen. When we spend our time focused on the things that are not there, we lose the heaven of the things that actually are right in front of us.
Today, focus on what you have in front of you, around you, and as a part of you. Give up the things that are not there and enjoy the things that are!
