Let me not forget my function. This is the thought that guides me today. It is the thought of remembering my purpose in this world My purpose is to bring healing, to save, to renew. I could say, lead me not into temptation, to get the same message across. The temptation is to take my mind away from truth and give my attention to what is not real, to the temptations of this world. The ego would have us focus on the illusions, the fears, the false securities that it has to offer in this world. None of these will save us. None of these will provide salvation. Only the truth about who we are and whose we are will save us.
When I was in Junior High, I worried tremendously about being good enough to find salvation. I had some well-intentioned mentors that taught that we are all "unworthy sinners" and that we don't "deserve" God's Love. I listened and soaked up the messages. Very soon, I felt incredibly unworthy, as if there would never be enough that I could do to be loved by God. Not long after that, I also began to think that if God couldn't love me, nobody else could either. That was the first year that I remember feeling depressed and wondering if continuing on this earth was worth the inevitable failure that would follow. I see far too many people suffer because they have missed the right message. They have believed that what is unreal actually does exist. This false message is the fabric of the illusion that destroys our peace.
The message that we are unlovable is the illusion. That is the ego of this world trying to make you think that you must struggle, but then making sure that you know that you will definitely fail even with all of your efforts.. What is unreal does not bring us peace. Instead, it only brings more suffering. The truth is that the love of God is inside each of us. It is the forgiveness of self by giving up the illusion of separation from God that matters the most. I am not one to question the Spirit. I am created of the very energy that is God. If I am created of God, then I am one with God and it is the love that is inside of me that I am seeking. My purpose is to forgive and bring salvation to this world. I can do this because my mind is a part of all minds, for we are all made of the same energy. We must love ourselves, however, in order to feel loved by anything that we perceive as outside of us.
My purpose is to provide peace! My purpose is to bring truth! Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.
