Why Not Me? The Law Of Personal Action...
At some point in our society, we seem to have shifted from seeking out responsibility and advancing what we were responsible for to a place where people shrug off their responsibilities. This isn't something that could have happened overnight. In fact, I would argue that it takes several generations to move this direction and it will take either some radical moves or several generations of slow and consistent positive change to get it back.
In business, one of the most important things that we can do is step up to the plate and own the next move in what is going on. This doesn't mean that you have to take "the fall" for other people not doing what they are supposed to do. Instead, this means that we have to ask ourselves better questions. We need to ask ourselves what we can do, right now, with the resources that we have, in order to make things better. Instead of asking who should be doing something, we should simply do something.
When people sit around whining about who should have done this or who should have done that, they lose, no they give up, their personal power. The choice to either do something or not do something really is a choice. The people who make the greatest impact in this world are the ones who simply step up to the plate and take their swing at moving life forward. The ones that choose to act are the ones that choose to make a splash.
Whatever challenge you are facing right now, and I am sure that there is at least one, ask yourself the right question. Ask yourself... "What can I do right now with the resources that I have in order to make things better?"
