You are you and nobody else is.
"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is Youer than you.
One of the toughest aspects of being truly alive is realizing that you are truly yourself and nobody else can be you for you. The simple truth, as well as the challenge, is that we have to be personally responsible for who we are now, in this situation, with the world that we live in. We have to be willing to step up and choose to be the best version of ourselves so that the world has a great example of how they can be the best version of themselves.
The choices that you make, the chances that you take, the world that you create are simply a result of you choosing to interpret things the way that you do. As you go through life, you begin to experience things. You have experiences with parents, teachers, leaders, siblings, politics, or whatever that happens to be around you. You look at the event and you think, what could I correlate this to? Could this be something that is good, or bad, or means nothing? You search your memory banks for what has happened in your past, if anything, that you can connect this with. As you filter through the past meanings that you have given to your life events, you choose a label of meaning for whatever is going on right now. Those who choose helpless meaning end up helpless. Those who choose positive meaning end up positive. Those who choose to look for good, or look for bad, tend to find exactly that.
Once you have chosen what you want (I did say want and chosen) the event to mean, you then make a choice about your response/reaction based on the label that you have given to the event. So, that is... the event happens, I filter or create meaning for the event, which then sets the path for the choice that I make next. The only thing in this process that you might not have control over is the event itself. The rest is what you are choosing for your life.
What do you want in your life? Do you want to be you and be a shining light to help the world know that this earth is a great place to live? Or, do you want to label things negatively and choose to be unhappy, and serve as an example of how to not enjoy life? It is not your circumstance, who the President of the United States is, who your boss is, or how much money you have that ultimately matters. It is what you choose to do and the manner in which you choose to live that makes the biggest difference.
Go be the best version of you possible today! In fact, be Youer than You!
