Hope is not a strategy!

“However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.”

– Sir Winston Churchill

You are who you are and where you are because of the series of choices you have made up to this point in your life. If you truly want to be someone else or somewhere else, you will make new choices. This is the thought that plagued me as my business was struggling in 2002. I was not in good shape financially, but I was definitely in worse shape mentally and emotionally. Revenue was way down and stress was way up. I had been hoping that people would suddenly call me and offer to hire me as their trainer, it just wasn't happening. To hope for something better without making new choices and taking new actions is to guarantee failure.

Humans often desire for their circumstances to change but seldom desire to change themselves. Success and failure begin in your story about yourself. Your belief system, the collection of choices you have made about yourself, will determine which business strategy you execute on. But, sitting around and hoping without taking massive directed action in a new direction is really just the wrong kind of B.S. When you find yourself in the wrong place in life, if you are unhappy with the results you are achieving, you will have to choose a new strategy. When you do, and you let go of the past, you will achieve the life you desire. Your struggle in this life is a choice. By the same token, your success in this life is just a choice as well.

Once I began to really focus on developing myself instead of focusing on just making other people understand, I began to create true success. From the day I changed my mind about being a victim of my circumstance, and chose to be the creator of my circumstance, I reclaimed the revenue I had lost after 911, and grew my business to a larger success than before. You know what strategy works for success. You have seen what the best of the best do. If you stop and think for a moment, you know what successful people think and believe about themselves. If you choose, you can think those things about yourself as well. Step back from your situation, claim your power to choose, let go of any excuse, and succeed because you choose a real strategy.

You've got this!
